Decisions, decisions!

Yesterday as I was leaving the office for lunch, Dave and I got into a small text convo that went a little like this:
D: Do we have plans next weekend?
M: Why?
D: Thought about going to Canada.
M: Why? D: to get married

WHAT!!?? Okay so we are both somewhat spontaneous and have been known to jump in the car adn go for long drives to basically nowhere. We have a BLAST doing this. But, spur of the moment, I haven't even gotten him a ring, what would we wear, etc? So, I got to thinking and talking to my WONDERFUL friend. We work well together, her and I we rationalize things for each other. She began to ask if that's what I really wanted. Yes, I do. Something small no nonsense. Then, I found THE DRESS, and her reply? "Holy F*^k, that dress is GORGEOUS! You can't go away and get married with no one there to see that amazing dress!" So, yeah she's right. So, now what are we going to do?

Dave and I have been engaged since December of 2005! At first, we were thinking a cruise, then the beach, then Vegas, but is that fair to his kids? I truly want them to be a part of our ceremony because I want them to feel just as much a part of our family! So, then we thought about our vacation back to my home. But, would that be fair to his mom? So, okay maybe a beach here so his mom could be here. And, now that I am back to my senses, we're back to Iowa. Are you all lost yet?! Me too! We don't want a BIG deal made out of any of it. We just want to get married. My whole budget for a small ceremony, Dave's ring and "tokens" for the kids...$600, yep cheap! Now that I found THE DRESS.......well there went my budget!

So today, I called my mom and asked her to "investigate" as to where we could find a decent looking beach in the middle of Iowa, and if she could find an officiant. She should be pleased, this is what she wanted. I don't know how I am going to pay for it, but we'll figure something out. Then she asked me what day. The 4th of July would be IDEAL! But, where are you going to find a quiet beach, adn an officiant? So, now we are thinking Friday the 6th. My thoughts...Dave's daughter and myself in red, Dave in white and khakis, and Dave's two boys...how do we feel about khaki and royal blue? Is it too cheesy!? Keep checking back for more updates or changes.
And if ya'll want to donate to the wedding fund...let me know! LOL

For the love of mothers!

I moved to Ohio in March of 2005. It was a hard decision, but it WAS what I needed to do. I had divorced my ex, fell in love with a WONDERFUL man, and we were going to have a great life. That great life began in Omaha, NE. We had a fabulous place, I had a dream job, BUT he had kids. And, those kids were in Ohio. So, we made a decision to pack it up and move. Why?! For no other reason that to be near his children. His ex was having MAJOR issues and they needed him closer. I got to Ohio on March 20, 2005. I didn't meet his children until August 9, 2006!

She had all these promises if we moved here. He believed her, I DID NOT! She ordered a background check on me, (insert rolling my eyes), I am clean my dad was a cop! And if I weren't, it wouldn't matter, my records are sealed. Then she had more excuses. She would only let him see the kids in her home. That's comforting! She got the court to order me out of my own home in order for him to have visitations. Nice considering I moved here for he and his kids, and I knew NO ONE! I made a really good friend out of the deal though! Then she wanted to meet me first, I called her three times to offer myself up for a meeting. She always shot the ideas down.

So, eleven days shy of 16 months, I met his kids. I didn't expect it to be a wakl in the park. I know his daughter is shy and his eldest son has harsh feelings towards him because since they have been separated and divorced J has had to taken on A LOT of resposibility. All because his mom works four part time jobs instead of ONE real job. Since August, the kids and I have done very well. S finally becane more herself. We have a GREAT time and I'd LOVE to see more of them. A couple of months ago we were discussing vacation plans and S piped up that we'd better not go without them! So, we decided that we would in tunr let their mom know that we would be taking them on vacation. She of course freaks about this. The kids call and tell us that she's not going to let them go, then she is as long as we don't go to my parents. I just want to scream!

So, in order for us to go on vacation, I have to go talk to an attorney in order to get all the right papers filed in all the right places, because knowing her she'll try to pull something when we go to pick them up. All this and yet, the kids tell us that she's planning on going to Vegas and leaving the kids with us? Why is it that the "non-custodial" parent has to give notice, however, the custodial parent can just drop them off for a week and act like it's all okay! It's not okay! It's written that each parent needs to give 14 day written notice of vacations. I might mention that the only reason we don't have custody is because we can't afford an attorney and he tried to not fight! Sometimes I'd like to choke them both!

I love being a step mom, I just wish the real mom would get over herself!
Sorry for ranting!

OMG! I am becoming my mother?!

I am becoming my mother! Okay, so I don’t REALLY know if that’s my problem, but everything indicates that it may be true. Some people may not think that would be a terrible thing. However, for me it is. It’s not that I don’t love my mom. Granted we have our differences, I am definitely NOT the favorite, and since I am so far away from home, I am somewhat neglected.

IF I am becoming my mother I am going to have a LONG life ahead of me. My mom has issues! She had a hysterectomy when I was in junior high because she had such bad migraines. She’d spend days in her room with blinds shutting out all light. She sometimes was in the hospital. So, in an effort to make things better her doctor recommended she have this procedure done. Things only escalated. When I was in college things for my mom got REALLY bad. She’d go places and not remember driving because she’d have such a bad headache. Years later she was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. What in a nutshell is that? She can smell EVERYTHING! When we go home to visit we have to “detox” ourselves and use all of her products to clean ourselves, do our hair and DO NOT even think of wearing any perfume, etc. And these symptoms…..they only begin to skim the surface!

My mom can’t eat ANYTHING. Great for a weight loss mechanism, but man talk about sucking! She can’t have any sugars, yeast, citric acids, dairy, basically anything. She CAN have, beef, pork, fish (which she has tried to like but doesn’t) and vegetables. All organic! She’s allergic to chicken and starches do her in as well. She used to love to bake, flour makes her “hurt”. Everything gives her headaches and leg tremors. If she’s been someplace that “smells” and gets all weird, she takes a few days rest at home to “detox” herself.

This is hereditary, and it passes more to females than males. Great for me! I used to get migraines once every couple of years. I have had two in the last month. Two, that have sent me so far as to the bathroom puking because it hurt so bad. This for me is scary! It could be due to PCOS, or it could be I am becoming my mother. Either way I HAVE to find something out ASAP. I am still young enough to have a family……..how would I provide for them if I can’t leave the confines of my own home? I had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for the first of June because the lady asked me if I had any problems that I would need to be seen earlier…….apparently PCOS and not having a period for 2 months is not enough to be seen earlier! So, this morning after the symptoms of yet another migraine began I called the doctor’s office. Perhaps I will find something out NEXT Monday!

Wish me luck! And pray that I am NOT becoming my mother!

Opening Day Blues

Today is the home opener for my beloved Indians. So many people have been looking forward to today! The sounds of the bats cracking, the fans cheering, and the smells of WAY overpriced concessions. The game has been "sold out" for quite sometime. There are STANDING ROOM only seats still available and an Indian specific website is still putting tickets upi for sale for those who have season passes but can't attend.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine and I looked into getting these tickets. Again, WAY TOO overpriced. Standing room is affordable, but we'd be in dress clothes from work and quite frankly the feet would start to hurt! So, I guess I will enjoy watching it from home. UNLESS, you can't see. Yes, I said can't see!

Cleveland has this wonderful thing that only four other places in the world has. LAKE EFFECT SNOW! My friends, it is April 6, and as I look out the window in my office 22 floors above ground, I can't see two feet! This morning when we went to leave for work, Dave "brushed" off over 3 inches of show. It was more like he had to sift it off by hand because it was soo heavy! It is continuing to snow, and the weather is supposed to worsten as the day goes on. I am VERY disappointed that I didn't end up getting the tickets, but I am so glad that I will not be one of the 20,000+fans freezing my ass off!

GO TRIBE!

It's a Meme

A friend of mine did this meme for her blog, and since I am SO FREAKING busy working all the time and really have nothing exciting going on, I thought I'd follow.

Is sex best in the morning, afternoon, or night?
-Hm.....Night leaves time for foreplay, but morning, that's somewhat fun and MUCH MORE spontaneous!

On which side of the bed do you sleep?
-If you're laying in it, the right...

Pork, beef, or chicken?
-Hmmm......ever since we disected fetal pigs and then would store them in preservatives that smell just like the preservatives that are in a package of ham, I'd have to say anything BUT pork! More often chicken!

Have you ever had to pull over on the side of the road to puke?
-Yep, five minutes after leaving for a six hour car ride back home. That was the craziest wedding I ever attended!

What leg do you put in pants first when putting them on?
-Seriously!? Who knows what leg goes into a pair of pants first!? I am sure there's some study out there by a university that is you are right or left handed, you put whichever foot in first! I swear people pay mega bucks for their kids to do some USELESS studies!

Candles or incense?
-I would have to say candles. I used to LOVE incense! But, some bad experiences in college and with my aunt being a "witch" I will stick with candles!

Do you dance when no one is watching?
-Heck yeah I do, I dance when people are watching too! Who gives a shit man! I am too old to worry about that. I do NOT dance while drinking however!

Did you play doctor when you were little?
-I grew up in the country with just a handful of kids my age. I don't recall playing doctor as often as jumping hay bailes, but yeah I think that I did a few times. Don't Judge!

Stove top cooking or microwave?
-I am marrying a man who LOVES to cook and he uses the stove top.......me, well I just relax while he's cooking! No really, the Stove top is the way to go! Yes David does most of the cooking, but I'd love to do more if I had the time!

Would you rather your car or your house be dirty?
-In my perfect world, BOTH would be nice and clean ALWAYS, however, I am VERY anal about people seeing things on the floor in my car. And, other than running around in the morning throwing towels everywhere while getting dressed, my house? Geez, it's a WONDERFUL thing that David also is our house's housekeeper!

Is sex best in the morning, afternoon, or night?
-See the answer to question one.

When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
-Usually I do, well depending on my mood I guess is a better answer. If there is someone sitting there waiting for my rockstar parking spot than HELL yes I take it back. Maybe, I will even walk it all the way to the store entrance........I love doing that and taking MY TIME!

Shower or bath?
-I will only bathe at my mother's house because they built their home and I know just who's asses have been in it! I will not bathe at my house! So, unless I redo a bathroom or buy a brand new house, I will always shower. No amount of cleaner can get a tub clean enough after some Stranger/former owner has planted their ass in my tub!

Do you pee in the shower?
-YUCK! Another reason why I don't bathe in shower/tub combos? You never know who's pissed in your tub....and you are going to sit there?

Mexican or Chinese food?
-Mexicans........Chinese? Depends, do I want to have horrible gas or diahrrhea? No seriously, these are my two faves!

Do you want someone aggressive or passive in bed?
-This also depends on my mood. If I have worked both jobs and left the house at 6 am and I am walking in the door at midnight, IF you think you're getting any you better be ALL aggressive!

Do you own sex toys?
-Yeah, the home made ones of course, the electric toothbruch, the clothes pins, etc. lmao

Corn dogs or hot dogs?
-Again, not a big fan of pork and all the other GARBAGE they put into hot dogs. A little girl I used to nanny always quoted Caddyshack..."Hot dogs, they are just made out of lips and assholes"

Your favorite restaurant?
-Home. Yep, I said it home! Dave used to work at Denny's and man he can cook!

What did you have for lunch today?
-A chicken caesar wrap.......it was good, but some afternoon delight would have been ten times BETTER!

When did you last fall down?
-Falling down??? Hm......I haven't "fallen down" in quite a while unless you count that nasty spill I took while sledding in December! Bruises galore, but it was oh so worth it!

Have you ever wished someone were dead?
-Ummm........I don't think dead, I wished my ex husband could be erased from my memory. But dead? That's harsh!

Love or money?
-The first time it was a reboud, this time it's love, God forbid I have to do it a third time, it's going to be all about the MONEY!

Credit cards or cash?
-All of the above!

Has there ever been anyone in your family you wish wasn’t?
-He didn't make it to the family, she got smart in time!

Oreos or vanilla wafers?
-I like both, I don't crave either. But, each must be served with a glass of milk!

How do you like your steak cooked?
-Medium or medium well..........preferably not mooing but moaning!

How do you like your eggs cooked?
-Again, depending on my mood! As long as they aren't snotty it's all good. I really should be answering hard boiled sliced for my salad.........mmmmmmmm... I am going to boil some tonight!

Have you ever knocked someone off their feet in a fight?
-I'm a lover not a fighter! LOL

Would you rather go camping or to a five star hotel?
-Duh, five star baby, the worst environment I have ever camped in was an RV with running water, a kitchen, a bathroom and a shower, oh yeah and tv..........

Would you rather have a root canal or minor surgery?
-Is a reduction a minor surgery!?

Would you shave your entire body (including your head) for money?
-How much money? Enough to buy me a fabulous blonde wig! Sure...LMAO seriously me blonde ?? LOL

Would you rather have lice or an STD?
-Neither!

What’s your favorite hard candy?
-Salty penis? I mean peanuts lol

Ever been to a strip club?
-Been there done that, I even applied at one once! To bartend!

Ever been to a bar?
-Yes, but apparently I am too old to know where the good ones are!

Ever been kicked out of a bar or a club?
-Only because we were closing it down!

Ever been so drunk you had to be carried out of somewhere?
-Absolutely not, unless you count the night of my wedding when all the drunk groomsmen tried to carry me out.......then my bustles broke and they nearly dropped me in a load of puke! I was NOT drunk though!

Kissed someone of the same sex?
-Of course! Who doesn't do this now a days!?

Had sex in the car?
-I lost my virginity in high school I HAD to have sex in the car to have a "sex life"!
Had sex at the beach?
-It's not a cake walk and all romantic. Quite franly the drink is way better than the actual happenings!

Had sex in a movie theater?
-That would be a negative, I was always way too afraid to get caught! Hello my dad was a cop! How embarrassing would that be!

Had sex in a bathroom?
-Yes

Have you ever been in an “adult” store?
-Yes, some amazingly HUGE "adult" stores. Seriously here in cleveland I swear they have the "adult mile". Kind of like an auto mile!

Is there anyone on your friends list you would ever consider having sex with?
-Maybe I already have!? ;P

Have you been caught having sex?
-Hmm........by a little brother yes! By the cops? No way we used to go DEEP into the backroads! Thank GOD for 4-wheel drive!

Have you ever kissed a stranger?
-Yes, in fact, one of those strangers happens to be the same stranger my lovely friend who posted this kissed. Best friends share right?!

Does anyone have naughty pictures of you?
-I don't know do you have any?
